Oscar Gonzalez was recently awarded the “Doris Lowe and Earl and Verna Lowe Scholarship” from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Florida. This competitive award is based on “merit and potential for contribution to the agricultural and wildlife environment”. More about this and other CALS awards can be found here.
Oscar is a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary Ecology program in SNRE and a graduate student in the Loiselle lab. Oscar is also pursuing the interdisciplinary TCD graduate certificate. His dissertation work is examining plant-pollinator mutualisms in the high Andes of Peru. He is also passionate about conserving natural areas in Peru for future generations.
